The thing with Canadian racism is that it's usually more subtle than its American counterpart. We don't shout openly about how the “(N-word)s should know their place”, but our "Rosa Parks moment" occurred with Viola Desmond, the main difference being that she was in a theater instead of a bus.

Same thing with Indigenous "boarding schools" (or "residential schools", as we call them in Canada) which were meant to "help" Indigenous people by "civilizing" them out of their "barbaric" ways. Americans were more up front about conquering land from the First Nations with the sword, while we used the pen by signing and then breaking Treaties.
